How to Remove Stains ***
Stain removal how-to guide for washable fabrics
Every so often, we all seem to manage to inadvertently spill food on our clothing. Knowing how and what to use to get the stain to come off will allow us to wear our favorite shirt a few more times.
Listed below are a few solutions:
Tomato sauce: scrape off excess, apply a solution of 1 tablespoon clear soap in 10 ounces of water, blot with a damp towel to remove any residue. If the soap solution did not remove the whole stain, apply a few drops of white vinegar.
Mustard: flush the stain with white vinegar, then apply the dish soap and water solution, let it sit for 15 minutes, rinse and wash.
Ketchup: treat it with stain removal solution (i.e. shout), use a clean toothbrush to apply white vinegar to lighten up the stain and wash.
Soy sauce: rinse the stain with running cold water. Blot with ammonia solution (1 part ammonia to 2 parts water) rinse again. Pretreat with stain removal solution and wash.
Salad dressing:
Most importantly after treating a stain, wash the boy's clothing item promptly.
